The Problem
Our two cats went through sisal rope fast. Within months, posts were shredded. Replacement posts were hard to find—or no longer sold at all. The exposed cardboard weakened the tree, making it unsafe and unstable.
Our Story
LOOM was born out of frustration with a problem we couldn’t ignore—and a belief that there had to be a better way.
01
Our two cats went through sisal rope fast. Within months, posts were shredded. Replacement posts were hard to find—or no longer sold at all. The exposed cardboard weakened the tree, making it unsafe and unstable.
02
We tried gluing and wrapping sisal rope. It worked—temporarily. But it was messy, time-consuming, and had to be redone every few months. There had to be a better way.
03
We noticed our cats scratched more than just their posts—they scratched our carpet too. It wasn’t about the material. It was about the texture, resistance, and instinct to scratch and mark territory.
04
We wrapped the posts in carpet. It worked surprisingly well, but it wasn’t a clean solution. It shifted, frayed, and still looked like a DIY fix.
05
We tested high-traffic commercial carpet built to withstand years of constant wear. It was durable, clean, and effective. After months of refining and testing, everything came together.
06
Instead of replacing an entire cat tree, we realized you only need to replace the part that wears out. LOOM makes it easy to extend the life of the tree you already own.
