Frequently Asked
Questions

Everything you need to know about LOOM.

What is LOOM?

LOOM is a repair sleeve designed to restore a worn cat tree scratching post. It slides over the existing post to give your cat a fresh, durable scratching surface without requiring you to replace the entire cat tree.

How is LOOM different from sisal rope or carpet wraps?

Traditional repairs require you to remove damaged rope, apply adhesive and carefully wrap new material around the post. A LOOM sleeve arrives fully assembled and installs over the existing post, creating a cleaner and more consistent finished appearance.

Will LOOM fit my cat tree?

LOOM is intended for common round cat tree posts. Compatibility depends on the post’s diameter, height and whether any platforms prevent the sleeve from sliding into place.

Measure your post before ordering and compare the measurements with the size listed on the product page.

How do I measure my post?

Measure straight across the widest part of the post to determine its diameter. Then measure the vertical section you want the sleeve to cover.

Do not measure around the outside of the post unless you are calculating its circumference.

What sizes do you offer?

Available diameters and heights are displayed on the product page. Additional sizes may be introduced as we expand compatibility with more cat tree designs.

How do I install a LOOM sleeve?

Remove any large pieces of loose or hanging material from the existing post. Align the LOOM sleeve with the post and slide it into position until it is fully seated.

Installation normally takes less than two minutes.

Do I need tools or glue?

No. LOOM is designed as a simple slide-on repair. No glue, stapling, rope wrapping or specialized tools are required for a compatible post.

Will the sleeve slide down or spin on the post?

A correctly sized sleeve should fit securely around the existing post during normal scratching. Fit can vary when a post is unusually narrow, damaged, uneven or covered in excessively loose material.

Can I rotate the sleeve when one side wears out?

Yes. When one area receives more wear, the sleeve can be rotated to expose a less-used scratching surface. This can help you get more use from the sleeve.

How long does a LOOM sleeve last?

Lifespan depends on your cat’s scratching frequency, strength and preferred scratching area. The commercial-style carpet surface is selected for durability, but all scratching materials will eventually show wear.

What material is the sleeve made of?

LOOM uses a rigid sleeve structure covered in durable, low-profile commercial-style carpet. The finished sleeve creates a stable scratching surface while covering the worn material underneath.

Is the carpet safe for my cats?

The carpet is selected for normal scratching use. As with any cat furniture, inspect the sleeve periodically and replace it if it becomes severely damaged or develops loose pieces that your cat may chew or swallow.

Can I wash the LOOM sleeve?

The sleeve should not be machine washed or submerged in water. Remove loose fur with a vacuum or lint tool. Small marks can be spot cleaned with a lightly damp cloth and then allowed to dry completely.

Can LOOM be used on posts wrapped in sisal rope?

Yes. LOOM is specifically useful for covering worn sisal posts. Trim away large hanging strands first so they do not interfere with installation. The underlying post must still be structurally secure.

Do you sell replacement posts?

No. LOOM is not a replacement post. It is a repair sleeve that fits over your existing scratching post, allowing you to preserve the original structure of your cat tree.
